Shandong Museum is a patriotic education base.

Shandong Museum is located in the core area of the eastern new city of Jinan and is a key attraction along Shandong’s “Mountains – Waters – Sages” golden tourist route. It is currently the largest provincial comprehensive museum in China in terms of exhibition space and is equipped with the most advanced facilities.

Shandong Museum houses a collection of over 200,000 cultural relics, including more than 1,300 first-class artifacts. Among them are national treasures renowned both at home and abroad, such as the Octagonal Star-Patterned Painted Pottery Dou, Eggshell Black Pottery Tall Stem Cup, Ya Chou Axe, and the Nine-Tiered Crown of the Ming Prince of Lu. Some of these items are being exhibited to the public for the first time. The museum has introduced the world’s most advanced audio guide equipment, offering multilingual commentary. Its souvenir shop specializes in cultural relic replicas, handicrafts, and books. The replica of the Eggshell Pottery Tall Stem Cup is considered a masterpiece of craftsmanship and has been presented as a state gift to foreign guests on multiple occasions. In addition, the museum features a café, VIP reception rooms, an academic lecture hall, and a youth activity center.

Price Information: Admission to Shandong Museum is free but requires a ticket. Visitors must collect a ticket before entering. Tickets are valid for the day of issue and expire afterward.

1. Individual visitors may obtain tickets either on-site or via online reservation: For on-site collection, visitors must present a valid ID (such as ID card, senior citizen card, driver’s license, student ID, military ID, etc.) at the Ticket Center window from 9:00 to 16:00 on Tuesdays through Sundays to receive a free admission ticket. For online reservations, please book on the Shandong Museum website www.sdmuseum.com up to five days before your visit. Each person can reserve up to five tickets. On the day of the visit, present your valid ID and reservation confirmation at the Ticket Center between 9:00 and 16:00 to collect your ticket.

Public Transport:

Currently, there are no dedicated tourist shuttle buses.

Public Transport Guide:

1. Take bus routes 115, 119, or K139, and get off at Xiajing Village Station.

2. Take BRT-5 or bus route 202, and get off at Huayang Mingyuan Station. Walk 500 meters east along Jingshi Road.

3. Take bus routes 18, 62, 63, or 150, and get off at Yijian Xincun Station. Walk 500 meters south along Yaojia East Road.

Self-Drive Guide:

Take G20 Highway → about 110 meters at the Jinan East Toll Gate → head in the direction of Jingshi East Road → drive 270 meters on Jinan East Overpass → turn right just ahead at Xingcun Overpass onto G309 → drive 10.2 kilometers along G309 → turn right onto Jingshi Road → drive 140 meters along Jingshi Road, then turn right → drive 80 meters to reach Shandong Museum (on the right side of the road)
