From October 1st to 3rd, 2017, the first Electric Midi Festival will take place at Taihu Midi Camp in Qidu Town, Wujiang District, Suzhou. With its thoughtfully designedfour outdoor stages—Discovery-Greenfield Stage, Lakeside Stage, Psy-Trance Stage, and Pool Stage—and camping area,it will offer an unmatched live music festival experience in China. In addition to the well-known names in the lineup such asAsian Dub Foundation,2manydjs,Sébastien Léger,Howie B,Xie Tianxiao,Zhang Qiang,Nova Heart,SUBS, WHAI, the lesser-known musicians also shine in their own unique genres, making Electric Midi the perfect opportunity to explore the unfamiliar.
In the Year of Hip-Hop—one that eschews diss tracks and online beef—you can feel the sharp, fiery energy of rappers through the screen; it's exciting but can get tiring. At the Electric Midi Festival under blue skies and green fields, we're all about Love & Peace, so we've prepared a uniquely flavored “hip-hop” special: acclaimed as a breath of fresh air in the Chinese rap scene,Lu1 (Lu Yi)and local Suzhou rapperLOOP. Lu1’s music radiates warmth and sunshine, light and joyful, having won the “Best Rap Artist” award at the 17th Chinese Music Media Awards; while LOOP is a leading figure in Jiangsu’s hip-hop scene, having received the “Most Promising Award” at the China Hip-Hop Awards.
As the first music festival in China to pioneer the fusion of “electronic music + rock,” Electric Midi is far more than just a DJ-and-band lineup. When live band performances on real instruments are transformed through DJs and their synthesizers,a new school emerges: DJs and bands performing live together, reinterpreting classic songs we’ve all grown used to.

The venue for this event, Taihu Midi Camp, is located in Qidu Town, Wujiang District, Suzhou City — one of the newly designatedsecond batch of National Characteristic Towns. Nestled by Taihu Lake, Qidu boasts a 23-kilometer lakeshore and faces Dongshan of Suzhou's Dongting Lake and Xishan of Jinting across the water. With the rise of the "Taihu Sinology Music Town" brand, this once low-profile town now reveals a fresh and composed new look, drawing increasing attention from visitors.
