In the minds of many Hong Kong people, Korean stars with good looks often come to mind, but most Korean dramas focus primarily on the acting skills of the celebrities and certain plotlines, with very little emphasis on the culture and history. If you want to watch TV dramas or films about Korean history and culture, "Dae Jang Geum" can be considered a recent long-form series that depicts the ancient history of the Korean nation. Alternatively, "Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War," which portrays the Korean War, is also a gripping cinematic storyline. Perhaps these stories can help you gain a deeper appreciation when traveling in Korea...

"Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War"

The flag has a 3:2 aspect ratio, featuring a white background, a blue and red yin-yang symbol (taegeuk), and the four trigrams: Heaven (☰), Earth (☷), Water (☵), and Fire (☲). "Toward a Bright Path from Hardship"
The Gamcheon Culture Village in Sacheon-dong, Busan, South Korea, has inherent historical and cultural significance. During the Korean War, many refugees fled to the mountains to escape the war and built homes there. The village has preserved these residences from the harsh wartime period. Originally, however, the area was established as a settlement by a religious group called "Taegeukdo," a faith founded in 1918 by Choi Je-u based on the Jeungsan philosophy. Over 4,000 followers gathered near Half Moon Hill, forming a village.

The dense clustering of houses in the village reflects how difficult life was at the time, as people sought refuge from the war.
The use of color has revitalized the entire community and turned it into a tourist attraction...

Epilogue:
Travel photography should be approached with many questions and an open mind for creative subjects. The most important thing is that photography isn’t just about showing off—not everyone likes being photographed, so one must be mindful. A photography journey doesn’t have to be limited to shooting sunrises and sunsets. Experiencing the local culture and history might bring even greater rewards.
