Jinan Moat Ring Park

The Ring Park was completed in October 1986, stretching 6.2 kilometers in length and covering an area of 40.7 hectares. Along the old city moat of Jinan and centered around a green belt of clear water, it connects Black Tiger Spring, Baotu Spring, Pearl Spring, Five Dragon Pool, and Daming Lake, forming a uniquely distinctive lakeside, mountainous, and spring-filled garden hub.

The park is mainly divided into three sections: the first is the East Moat, featuring the Four Seasons Garden scenic area dominated by plant landscapes, divided into spring, summer, autumn, and winter zones; the second is the West Moat, where the southern section is the "May Third" Flower Memorial Garden and the northern section is the Spring Creek Water Scenic Garden; the third is the eastern section of the South Moat, which is the Spring Stone Garden centered around Black Tiger Spring.

The Liberation Memorial Pavilion is located at the southeast corner of the Ring Park, facing the renowned Black Tiger Spring across the river. It was built in 1965, with the three large characters "Liberation Pavilion" inscribed by Marshal Chen Yi, engraved in gold on stone and embedded on the south side of the base. It was rebuilt in May 1985. Black Tiger Spring is situated in the eastern section of the South Moat of the Ring Park. Constructed in 1965, it is the 33rd of Jinan’s 72 Famous Springs. Its water yield is second only to Baotu Spring, ranking as the second largest among all springs in Jinan. The Black Tiger Spring group consists of 15 spring pools, making it the most voluminous among Jinan’s four major spring clusters. When the water level reaches 28 meters each year, the springs gush forth, captivating visitors who linger to enjoy the view.
