Jiangshuiquan Park (Located at the foot of Huilong Mountain and Laohu Mountain, it is named after Jiangshuiquan, one of the seventy-two famous springs in Jinan, which sits at the base of Huilong Mountain.)

Jiangshuiquan Park is located about 1,000 meters southeast of the Guai Po (Strange Slope) on the eastern outer ring road in Yaojia Town, Lixia District, Jinan. At the foot of Huilong Mountain and Laohu Mountain, it is named after Jiangshuiquan, one of the seventy-two famous springs in Jinan. Take bus 49 to Jiangshuiquan Station, then walk 300 meters to reach Jiangshuiquan Park.

The park covers an area of over 5,000 acres, centered around a reservoir and surrounded by mountains on the east, west, and south sides. The reservoir spans 10 square meters, with a water storage capacity of 1.3 million cubic meters, a depth of over 20 meters, and is perennially filled with water. There are nearly 20 rubber and iron boats in the reservoir. Some visitors are boating, while others are playing by the shore, creating a lively beach-like atmosphere reminiscent of the East China Sea. The colorful tents and umbrellas on the shore, combined with the boats of various hues in the water, create a vibrant sea of colors. A crystal-clear blue lake shimmers under the sunlight, complementing the majestic green mountains, forming a breathtakingly beautiful scene. The mountains are covered with dense forests and blooming flowers. In spring, the fragrance of jujube blossoms, pine trees, and various other blooms blend into a unique scent, enhanced by the cool, fresh air, making it truly refreshing and intoxicating. Birds chirp in competition across the hills, while uniquely styled wooden huts, Mongolian yurts, stone pagodas, and oddly shaped rocks stand atop the mountains, making it a place hard to leave. Mountain springs, trees, and flowers, along with the clear emerald-green lake water, reflect the white-walled, red-roofed resort hotels and shaded corridors where visitors relax and have fun—offering a quaint charm. The wild game cooked at the resort hotel and the fish and shrimp from the reservoir attract many visitors. Vendors along the eastern shore of the reservoir display colorful swimsuits, lifebuoys, a variety of drinks, and snacks. Anglers by the reservoir remain focused on their floats under the blazing sun, undeterred by the heat... The Huilong Temple on Huilong Mountain flourished in the late Ming Dynasty and includes the temple itself, Huilong Pagoda, Lvzu Cave, Lv Dongbin’s Residence, Zhualuo Buddha Cave, and the Goddess of Childbirth Cave, all located nearby. Halfway up the mountain stands the “Juxian Pavilion.” Not climbing the mountain and visiting these sites would be a missed opportunity. On the western side, Laohu Mountain, facing Huilong Mountain to the east, features two caves that, according to legend, are the “carrying eyes” of the giant Yang Erlang, who transported the two mountains on a pole.

The dam spanning Huilong Mountain and Laohu Mountain is 200 meters long and 6 meters wide, presenting a grand and spectacular sight. During the rainy season, water cascades down the dam, forming a large waterfall. When sunlight hits it, countless rainbows appear, creating a dazzling and mesmerizing spectacle reminiscent of the phrase “a city of mountain hues and half a city of lake views,” as described in the poem:

A valley winds through nine turns to the Dragon Cave,

Three mountains and ten peaks stand towering and steep.

Jiangshui Spring and the reservoir shine bright,

Green hills and blue waters reflect rosy light.

To the south of the reservoir lies a continuous range of mountains leading directly to Longdong Scenic Area. The mountains are covered with lush trees, and during the rainy season, springs gush out and converge into streams with crystal-clear water, making it a great spot for vacationing and camping.

Self-Driving Guide:

1) Drive 5.8 km along the Ring Expressway, exit at Jinan East/Zhangqiu, turn slightly right to enter Jinan East Interchange. 2) Drive 980 m along Jinan East Interchange, go straight onto Jingshi East Road after passing Xincun Interchange (~350 m), then drive 50 m along Jingshi East Road, turn slightly left onto Jingshi Road. Pass Yan Mountain Overpass, Erhuan East Road, and Jiangshuiquan West Road to reach Jiangshuiquan Village.
