Carefree Spring

Carefree Spring is located south of Baotu Spring and connects to it from the north. It is listed in historical records such as the Jin Dynasty's "Famous Springs Stele." The Ming Dynasty poet Yan Bi wrote in his poem "Seventy-Two Springs": "By the western edge of the ornamental spring, clear waters gush and flow; drinking its water can dispel ten thousand measures of woe. Elders and children alike vie to play in the open, as spring arrives and work calls them to the eastern fields." This spring had been buried for a long time but was restored in 1989. The pool is irregularly shaped, covering an area of 672 square meters, with natural stones lining its banks. Stone slabs lie across the water’s surface, while tender aquatic plants grow in the pool and colorful fish swim about. Clear water seeps through stones and flows into Baotu Spring. The area is surrounded by lush pine and cypress trees, weeping willows casting shade, and bamboos storing moisture.
