Chengzhuang Natural Village is located in the eastern part of Geshi Town, south of Shentong Mountain. The Guanyin Nunnery Scenic Area under its jurisdiction is one of the main scenic spots of Shentong Mountain Forest Park. The Guanyin Nunnery Scenic Area features steep mountain terrain, uniquely shaped peaks and rocks, murmuring streams, and rich forest vegetation, creating a beautiful and enchanting landscape. It is also a renowned site of religious culture, where cultural and natural attractions such as the ancient Guanyin Nunnery, Shuanglong Stream, Ancient Vines Embracing the Child, and Wisteria Garden converge, making it rich in tourism resources. Since Shentong Mountain was approved as a forest park by the provincial forestry bureau in 1998, Chengzhuang Natural Village has leveraged its distinctive tourism resources, actively invested substantial human, financial, and material resources, and developed a thriving tourism industry. It has established local characteristics and achieved considerable social and economic benefits.

The annual number of visitors exceeds 200,000, with peak off-county visitors reaching over 50,000. Annual tourism revenue amounts to millions of yuan, with direct economic benefits exceeding 600,000 yuan. Ticket sales and catering services are the primary sources of direct income. During the peak tourist season, up to a hundred villagers are directly or indirectly involved in tourism-related activities. In addition to those working in food and beverage, many are engaged in selling tourism merchandise, fishing, parking services, and trading local mountain specialties—almost one person per household. This accounts for over 30% of the village’s labor force.
