Ningyang Yuwang Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Shandong Province.

Ningyang Yuwang Temple is located 15 kilometers north of the county town, covering an area of over 20 acres. It is a municipal-level key cultural relic protection unit and a provincial historical outstanding architecture, built during the Ming Dynasty. The site features attractions such as the main hall, side halls, a moon terrace, a sacred path, a statue of Yu the Great, and stone lions. Eleven ancient cypress trees, each several hundred years old and with trunks measuring over four meters in girth, still stand within the temple grounds. Among them are two Oriental arborvitae trees with lush foliage resembling canopies. Named “Twisted Branches and Forked Cypresses” due to their unique shapes, they are one of the Eight Ancient Scenic Spots of Ningyang. The temple sits against the backdrop of the Dawen River, offering a panoramic view of the magnificent Gangcheng Dam on the river. The scenic area receives approximately 20,000 visitors annually, including 5,000 from outside the county.

It administers 83 natural villages and 59 administrative villages, with a total population of 66,000 at the end of 2003, including 62,000 agricultural residents, and a population density of 783 people per square kilometer.
