Introduction:

The Jiaqing Ancient Well is situated on the northeastern side in front of Hantang Village, Sanjiang Town. Inscriptions on the well’s rim, reading “Renovated by the Yu Clan in the Jiayin Year of the Jiaqing Reign,” show that this well was dredged and repaired by the local Yu family during the Jiayin year of the Jiaqing era (1808 AD), proving that a well had previously existed at this site.

The rim of the “Jiaqing Ancient Well” is carved from coarse stone, and the interior of the well was filled in about ten years ago, leaving it dry. The well platform is also made of coarse stone and is square in shape, with a drainage channel built to allow overflow water to drain away.
