Taipei City Commerce Department Director Huang Yiyu stated that as the new year approaches, people have the need to replace furniture as part of their New Year’s tradition of renewal. However, among the wide range of products available, how to choose furniture that suits home decoration and can enhance the overall fortune of the family is a concern for many consumers. For this occasion, they specially invited feng shui master Tsai Shangji to teach the public 2013 luck and wealth techniques, and coordinated with a total of 12 businesses in the Nanchang Furniture Street commercial district to launch the “Welcome the New Year, Luck & Wealth Month” campaign. As long as you spend over NT$10,000 at designated stores during the campaign period, you will receive a free lucky wealth-attracting lamp. Merchants are also offering end-of-year promotional discounts, with the lowest starting at 42% off.
Tsai Shangji provided the public with feng shui advice for attracting luck and wealth through home decoration. The living room governs both family and career life; compared to wooden or rattan chairs, thick and spacious sofas can better enhance family harmony and boost career fortune. If merged with the living room, it may cause the male (or female) head of the household—who is the main breadwinner—to become overworked. Compared to foldable stools, selecting high-back chairs with proper support is more suitable. The bedroom is key to influencing marital relationships and individual overall fortune. The headboard and side cabinets beside the bed serve as the “support” and “armrests,” and are essential elements when choosing a bed set in the Year of the Snake.
