Over ten thousand people measured Nanchang’s charm with their feet

On the morning of June 18, the Jiangxi Provincial Olympic Sports Center was bustling with excitement. The runners in colorful outfits had finally waited for this day, as the public gathered together for the joy of running. Around 9:30 a.m., upon the organizer's signal, the participants dashed off toward their destinations.

It is understood that this event saw the participation of 1,600 teams with 8,000 participants. Including volunteers and citizens, about ten thousand people took part in this running event. The organizing committee arranged 31 checkpoints into five routes, with each checkpoint being recommended by various districts of Nanchang based on their unique features and featuring corresponding mission tasks. All participating teams were randomly assigned to these five routes.

“It’s really so much fun to run with so many people,” one participant said excitedly. Normally, he runs alone to keep fit, but today (June 18), joining so many others in the race not only made him happy, but also helped him make many new friends. Everyone helped and cooperated to complete the missions, making the event very meaningful and absolutely worth joining, all while measuring Nanchang’s charm step by step.

Award-winning participants

Participants praised for completing tasks in the rain

Since the launch of the activity in February this year, the “Run for Jiangxi” has received enthusiastic support from participants, with unprecedented enthusiasm for joining. What checkpoints and tasks did the participants prefer? Reporters from China Jiangxi Net interviewed several contestants and found that most showed strong interest in tourist attractions, taking selfies with selfie sticks at every stop. Some preferred historical and cultural checkpoints, while others hoped for more challenging intellectual puzzles, ideally requiring both brain and brawn. It seems that freshness and challenge have become the biggest demands of the participants.

The weather on the 18th also became a topic of discussion among the participants. It wasn’t raining when they set out in the morning, but once they arrived at the checkpoints and started their tasks, thunderstorms joined in the “fun,” causing inconvenience to many. But some participants continued their missions or ran toward the next target despite the rain in order to finish faster.

“These participants gave it their all, and everyone was united, not afraid of heat or fatigue,” said Mr. Zhang, a citizen shopping at Nanchang Greenland Central Plaza, giving a thumbs-up to the runners. To save time, Xiao Liu from the team “Run for Brothers Yay Line 4” was braving the rain to complete his task, while his teammates cheered him on. Reporters from China Jiangxi Net learned that there were many participants like Xiao Liu.
