The first and second rounds of the 2012 National Mountain Bike Championship will be held starting this month on the 25th in Muse Lake, Fengmu Town, Tuncheng County.
It is understood that the events of the 2012 National Mountain Bike Championship include men's cross-country, men's individual time trial, women's cross-country, women's individual time trial, and more. As of now, the teams registered to compete in the Tuncheng round include the Beijing Cycling Team, Shanxi Team, Zhejiang Team, and 12 other teams. There are 87 participants in the professional group and 120 in the amateur group.
In 2010 and 2011, Tuncheng County successfully hosted the first and second rounds of the National Mountain Bike Championship for two consecutive years, receiving high praise from all sectors of society. Seizing the momentum, Tuncheng County has accelerated the development of cycling sports and related industries, developed six cycling routes, invested 300,000 yuan to purchase 150 bicycles, established the Tuncheng County Cycling Sports Club, and planned to build a cycling park in the MUSE Lake Scenic Area. The county aims to establish an international “Around MUSE Lake” road cycling race, positioning Tuncheng as a training base for mountain biking at the provincial and even national level, and achieving an organic integration of tourism and culture.
