Travelers in southern Taiwan are in for a treat: Kaohsiung–Nanchang route now open

To serve more travelers in southern Taiwan, TransAsia Airways launched the Kaohsiung–Nanchang route on July 31. The flight operates every Wednesday, departing from Kaohsiung’s Xiaogang Airport at 8:00 AM and arriving at Nanchang Changbei International Airport at 10:30 AM. The return flight departs at 11:30 AM and arrives back in Kaohsiung at 2:00 PM, with a one-way flight time of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Zhang Gangwei of Huafu Group’s TransAsia Airways noted that Nanchang, the capital of Jiangxi Province, is located in the central-northern part of the province, bordered by Meiling Mountain to the west and Poyang Lake to the east. With distinct seasons similar to Taiwan’s climate, Nanchang was once the military capital of mainland China and was designated as a National Historical and Cultural City in 1986. Boasting not only stunning natural scenery but also a wealth of cultural attractions—with over 50 sites listed as national, provincial, or municipal-level key cultural heritage protection units—it is also home to a national forest park and a nationally renowned scenic area, making it a highly worthwhile destination.

The launch of TransAsia Airways’ Kaohsiung–Nanchang route opens the door for travelers from Nanchang—who are not yet eligible for independent travel to Taiwan—to explore the beautiful island. It also brings travelers from southern Taiwan to this cultural city where historical landmarks meet modern vibrancy.
