The ruins of Tianxian Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Nanchang County.

Introduction:

The ruins of Tianxian Temple are located on a platform called Houzhushan to the east of Jingshan Village, Xiangtang Town. The entire platform is an irregular rectangle, slightly elevated 0.5–1 meter above the surrounding rice fields, with a total area of approximately 400 square meters. A temple originally stood on the platform, which local villagers referred to as “Tianxian Temple.”

During the Anti-Japanese War, Japanese invaders massacred over 300 local people here and burned down the temple.

In the early 1970s, the local government erected a memorial monument at the original site of the temple to commemorate the victims of that tragedy and to condemn the atrocities committed by Japanese imperialism.

The monument is built of brick and stone, with the inscription covered by white lime, making the text unreadable. A five-pointed star is cast in cement at the top center of the monument.

On October 27, 1983, the Nanchang County People's Government listed it as one of the first batch of Nanchang County Cultural Relic Protection Units.
