Qianfang Site

Qianfang Site

The Qianfang Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Nanchang County.

The “Qianfang Site” is located in Qianfang Village Group, Liangxi Village, Xiangtang Town. Stone tools and pottery from the Late Neolithic to the Shang and Zhou dynasties have been discovered over a relatively large area of about 200 acres, including the rice fields to the east of the village and the area extending westward to the foot of the mountain. The entire village is also built on top of the site.

The “Qianfang Site” is actually connected to the “Liangxi Site.” They belong to the same period and share the same cultural strata. The Qianfang Site is the northern extension of the Liangxi Site.

The eastern side of the Qianfang Site is mostly rice paddies, while the western side consists of low hills. The village of Qianfang is located about 300 meters to the northeast.

On July 20, 2000, the People's Government of Nanchang County listed it as part of the second batch of Nanchang County Cultural Heritage Protection Units.
