Yingchuan Shuiyin Residential House

Yingchuan Shuiyin Residential House is a cultural relic protection unit of Nanchang County.

The “Yingchuan Shuiyin Residential House” is located at No. 12, West of Huangjia Natural Village, Houfang, Huangfang Village, Youlan Town, Nanchang County. It faces south and covers an area of 260 square meters. The building has a bluish-gray brick exterior, with the lower part made of six layers of large red sandstone rib stones, a flush-gable fireproof wall, and a red sandstone carved flower door lintel above the south-facing entrance gate. Above the gate is a plaque inscribed with “Yingchuan Shuiyin.” The interior consists of a two-courtyard, one-skywell structure with post-and-lintel wooden framing. The side rooms on both sides of the first courtyard are two-story structures, with a central carved wooden entryway in the middle that can be opened. The lattice windows of the side rooms flanking the skywell, together with the carved wooden entryway, form an exquisite set of wooden carvings. The partition walls of the side rooms are also inlaid with carved stone pieces. The central hall of the second courtyard is two stories high, with carved wooden lintels on the columns in both the upper and lower sections. Between the lintels are paintings on a white background with black ink. The bases of the columns are covered with lotus-shaped wooden capitals, resting on octagonal stone plinths. The building demonstrates exquisite craftsmanship in both wood and stone carving, providing valuable evidence for the study of early Republican-era residential architecture.

The east side of Huangjia Natural Village in Houfang is adjacent to a township-level cement road, with an irrigation channel on the east side of the road. Approximately 3 kilometers to the north is the newly built Nanchang Eastern Ring Expressway.

On May 7, 2010, the People's Government of Nanchang County listed it as part of the fifth batch of Nanchang County Cultural Relic Protection Units.
