Dazhou Deng Clan Ancestral Hall

The Dazhou Deng Clan Ancestral Hall is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

The “Dazhou Deng Clan Ancestral Hall” is located in the southwestern part of Dengjia Natural Village, Dazhou Village, Dongxin Township, Nanchang County. It is a single-story, interconnected building constructed of blue-grey bricks, facing west with its back to the east. The structure consists of three courtyards, two skywells, and covers a floor area of 785 square meters. Its interior features symmetrical post-and-lintel and mortise-and-tenon wooden frameworks. The main beam of the front hall bears an ink inscription reading “the 23rd year of the Jiaqing reign, year of Wuyin,” while the middle hall serves as a passageway. The rear hall, named “Yilun Hall,” is grand and imposing, with 15 beams, massive golden pillars about 40 centimeters in diameter, and wooden plugs and stone bases beneath the columns. There are no carved ornaments on the beams. It serves as important evidence for the study of ancestral hall architecture.

Dengjia Natural Village in Dazhou is bordered to the west by the South Diversion Levee, approximately 200 meters southeast of the Dongxin Township government, and about 1,500 meters north of the Shengmi Bridge.

On May 7, 2010, the Nanchang County People’s Government listed it as a Cultural Relic Protection Unit under the fifth batch of Nanchang County designations.
