Han Tang Ancient Well

The Han Tang Ancient Well is a cultural relic protection unit of Nanchang County.

The "Han Tang Ancient Well" is located on the northeastern side in front of Han Tang Village, Sanjiang Town. According to the inscription on the well’s coping stone, which reads “Renovated by the Yu family in the Guihai year of the Jiaqing era,” it is known that the well was dredged and restored by the Yu clan of the village during the Guihai year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (1808 AD), proving that an older well had existed at this site prior to that time.

The coping stone of the "Han Tang Ancient Well" is carved from coarse rubble stone. The interior of the well was filled in about ten years ago and currently contains no water. The well platform is also paved with coarse rubble stones in a perfect square shape, with a drainage channel constructed to discharge any overflow.

On July 20, 2000, the People's Government of Nanchang County listed it as part of the second batch of Nanchang County Cultural Relic Protection Units.
