Jing Shu Qi Rong Residence

The Jing Shu Qi Rong Residence is a cultural relic protection unit of Nanchang County.

The “Jing Shu Qi Rong Residence” is situated in the southeast of Baima Village, Nanchang County. It faces south with a north orientation, has two and a half courtyards, and covers a construction area of 310 square meters. Its exterior walls are made of blue-grey bricks, with three layers of large rubble stones forming the rib stones. It has a pavilion-style door hood, a flush gable roof, and a plaque that reads “Jing Shu Qi Rong.” Upon entering, the front features a wooden screen wall with carved lattice patterns. The eaves around the central courtyard’s skywell are surrounded by coffered false caisson ceilings with floral lattice designs and carved wooden hanging pillars. The central hall consists of five pillars and four bays, with plain lattice work, spanning both upper and lower floors, and the pillars rest on drum-shaped stone bases. The left and right wing rooms around the rear courtyard have lattice-panelled eaves.

The “Jing Shu Qi Rong Residence” is located at the southeastern corner of Baima Village, surrounded by other residences, with Baima’s commodity distribution market approximately 50 meters to the northwest.

The Jing Shu Qi Rong Residence features exquisite and elegant carvings, making it an important physical resource for studying mid-period Republican-era southern residential architecture.

On May 7, 2010, the People’s Government of Nanchang County listed it as part of the fifth batch of Nanchang County Cultural Relic Protection Units.
