The Former Educated Youth Site in Front of the Building

The Former Educated Youth Site in Front of the Building is a cultural heritage site protected by Nanchang County.

The “Former Educated Youth Site in Front of the Building” is located in Louqian Village, Nanxin Township, Nanchang County (currently the site of the village committee). Originally built in 1976 during the Cultural Revolution, it served as housing for the children of workers from Jiangxi Hand Tractor Factory who were sent “up to the mountains and down to the countryside.” The building faces south, covers a construction area of 218 square meters, has ten bays, red brick walls, and features two gable-and-hip roofs with double-sloped, hipped ends on the front and rear, topped with red clay tiles. It stands as a witness to the experiences of educated youth during the later period of the Cultural Revolution.

To the west of the “Former Educated Youth Site in Front of the Building” (currently the site of the village committee) is a village-level cement road, and to the south lies a relatively large playground. About 300 meters to the south of the site is the Ganjiang River embankment, beyond which flows the main channel of the Ganjiang River. The township government is approximately 800 meters to the southwest, and Dongjiao Gongjia is about 850 meters to the northwest.

On May 7, 2010, the Nanchang County People’s Government listed it as part of the fifth batch of Nanchang County Cultural Heritage Protection Units.
