The residential house in Moshan Village is a cultural heritage site protected by Nanchang County.

The residential house in Moshan Village is located at No. 125, Dengjia Natural Village, Moshan Village, Liantang Town, Nanchang County, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, and is owned by the village committee. Built in the ninth year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1829), the house faces east and has a width of 12 meters and a depth of 33 meters, covering a total area of 396 square meters. It features an exterior of blue bricks, a flush-gable roof, and a main entrance on the north side of the eastern wall. The door is framed with red stone, decorated with carved spandrels, and has an undecorated plaque above. Entering through the main gate, you will find a courtyard and wing rooms, along with two main halls—one at the front and one at the back. The front hall is single-story, while the rear hall has two stories, with a total of three courtyards aligned vertically. The interior wooden framework follows the post-and-lintel style. The front hall’s crossbeam is fitted with a coffered ceiling, while the spaces between the beams remain unadorned. The lattice windows are inlaid with geometric patterns. The bases of the pillars are drum-shaped stone plinths. This building provides important insights into residential architecture from the Qing Dynasty.

Originally used as the office space for the village committee, it underwent extensive partial renovation in 2008 with funding of 180,000 yuan raised by the committee. Aside from some changes to the original exterior walls, the internal wooden structure was largely restored to its original state.

The residential house in Moshan Village is situated in the central part of Dengjia, Moshan Village, surrounded by densely built houses and a sizable population. To the east, across an open space and the village’s concrete road, lies the local farmers’ market; to the west is the newly built village committee building; to the south is the village’s concrete road; and to the north, it shares a wall with another residence of the same era.

On May 7, 2010, the People’s Government of Nanchang County designated it as a cultural heritage site under the fifth batch of Nanchang County Cultural Relics Protection Units.
