Nanliu Residential House

The Nanliu Residential House is a cultural heritage site protected by Nanchang County.

The "Nanliu Residential House" is situated in the central part of Nanliu Natural Village, Liufang Village, Youlan Town, Nanchang County. It faces west and has an east-west orientation, with a width of 11 meters and a depth of 31 meters, covering a total area of 341 square meters. The exterior is made of gray bricks and includes a small front courtyard. The main section features a red stone door frame that is slightly bent toward the north to conform to feng shui beliefs. The door is inlaid with a plaque (its inscriptions have been covered), and on both sides are door hoods composed of red stone cantilever beams and diagonal braces. The interior wooden structure follows the post-and-lintel system, consisting of three and a half bays. There are two courtyards along the central axis and one rear courtyard. The wooden beams inside are plain and undecorated, while the upper front sections of the beams in both the front and rear halls are fitted with ceiling boards. At the back of the rear hall, there is a central shrine. The bases of the columns are made of red stone plinths. This building features exquisite carvings and serves as an important physical resource for the study of residential architecture from the Qing Dynasty.

In front of the main gate of the "Nanliu Residential House" is a small stone-paved path in the village, flanked by ordinary residences, with more houses lying across the path behind the building.

On May 7, 2010, the Nanchang County People's Government listed it as part of the fifth group of Nanchang County Cultural Heritage Protection Units.
