The Former Site of Tsinghua University Jiangxi Branch is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Jiangxi Province.

The “Former Site of Tsinghua University Jiangxi Branch” is located in Hongjing Village, Wuxing Reclamation Farm, Nanchang County (formerly the Sixth Sub-farm).

During the Cultural Revolution, from May 1969 to October 1971, approximately 2,100 professors, teachers, and some family members of Tsinghua University came from Beijing to this place to undergo so-called “re-education.” They endured the threat of schistosomiasis while working in the rice paddies, performing the simplest yet most grueling manual labor.

In Hongjing Village, Wuxing Reclamation Farm, Nanchang County, there still remain over thirty brick-and-wood structures built by the Tsinghua University Jiangxi Branch, including assembly halls, canteens, and single-story bungalows (each ranging from 5 to 12 bays, with a few having 3 or 4 bays). Most of these buildings are still in relatively good condition and are currently in residential use.

The “Former Site of Tsinghua University Jiangxi Branch” is located in a relatively concentrated area within Hongjing Village, Wuxing Reclamation Farm, Nanchang County, arranged along both sides of the village’s concrete road. Excluding collapsed and renovated structures, over 30 such buildings constructed at that time still exist, in fairly preserved condition.

The “Former Site of Tsinghua University Jiangxi Branch” is situated in the northeastern corner of Wuxing Reclamation Farm, now called Hongjing Village. To the east of the village is a dike, beyond which lies the vast Poyang Lake; to the south, west, and north are rice fields.

On May 7, 2010, the People’s Government of Nanchang County listed it as part of the fifth batch of Nanchang County Cultural Heritage Protection Units.
