Site of Xunyang City

The center of the Xunyang City ruins is located 9 kilometers south of Shuhe Street in Jiujiang County and 8 kilometers northeast of Longkai River in Jiujiang City proper. It currently belongs to Saihu Village, Qilihu Township, Economic Development Zone, Jiujiang City.

In the 1980s, the ruins of Xunyang City were discovered. In 1981 and 1985, the cultural relics management departments of Jiangxi Province and municipal and provincial cultural relics experts conducted on-site investigations and archaeological appraisals of the site on two separate occasions. Through these investigations, it was found that the area around Ma’an Zhou, Weizui, Yutu Mountain, Baitiong Mountain, Qili Lake, and He’wensai in Saihu Village contains relics and remains of an ancient city, covering an area of approximately 3 square kilometers. The archaeological appraisal identified it as the “Xunyang City Site of the Six Dynasties.”
