Lushan Botanical Garden:

Lushan Botanical Garden is a renowned subtropical alpine botanical garden in China. Established in 1934, it covers an area of 3 square kilometers. As one of the earliest botanical gardens in China, it serves as a key base for the ex-situ conservation of plant species in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It has collected over 100,000 plant specimens from both domestic and international sources and has introduced and acclimatized more than 3,400 species. The Chinese dawn redwood, known as a "living fossil," has been propagated here by the tens of thousands.

The botanical garden is not only a research base but also a scenic destination. It is divided into 11 exhibition areas based on natural plant communities and different ecosystems for visitors to explore. There are rest areas in the garden with stone benches and tables under the shade of trees for visitors to relax.

Located between Dayue Mountain and Hanpo Ridge in the eastern valley of Mount Lushan, at an altitude of 1,000–1,300 meters, the garden spans an area of 30 square kilometers. It is China's only subalpine botanical garden, established in 1934. Focusing on the introduction and acclimatization of plants, it develops and utilizes wild plant resources from subtropical mountainous regions and cultivates new varieties. It has gathered over 3,400 plant species from both domestic and international sources and has established seed exchange relationships with nearly 300 institutions in over 60 countries around the world.

Lushan Botanical Garden is part of the Lushan Scenic Area. You can reach the Lushan Scenic Area via the following methods:

By car: 1. From Jiujiang: Take the Lushan Ring Boulevard to the East Gate of Lushan. 2. From Nanchang: Take the Beijing-Kowloon Expressway, exit at Xingzi, and then follow the Lushan Ring Road to arrive.

By bus: From Sanli Street in Jiujiang (opposite the Armed Police Detachment) or Shilou Building (approximately 30 minutes, every 15 minutes, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM)

How to visit Lushan Botanical Garden within the scenic area

After entering the Lushan Scenic Area, take the sightseeing bus and get off at the Botanical Garden stop.
