On April 4, Wang Shi (a pseudonym), an employee of the Lushan Reclamation Farm, along with four relatives and friends, was hiking on Tiechuan Peak when he accidentally fell down a cliff, resulting in a left leg fracture that left him unable to walk. Eventually, after six hours of arduous joint rescue efforts by police and civilians, Wang was successfully rescued and brought to safety.

　　At around 9 a.m. on the 4th, Wang Shi, an employee of the Lushan Reclamation Farm, and four relatives and friends set off from Nanshan via the Muma Ranch Road toward Tiechuan Peak for a hiking trip.

　　About two hours later, Wang Shi, who is over 50 years old, suddenly lost his footing while hiking, fell down a cliff, and suffered a fracture in his left thigh. Although conscious, he was unable to walk.

　　Seeing this, Wang’s relatives and friends had no choice but to call the police for help. At 12:05 p.m., after receiving instructions from the command center and confirming the location of Wang and the others, the Lushan Public Security Bureau Patrol Police Brigade quickly contacted the Lushan 120 Emergency Medical Center, the Lushan Emergency Rescue Center, and the scenic area management office in the jurisdiction. In a short time, a rescue team composed of police officers, firefighters, medical personnel, and scenic area staff was formed and immediately dispatched to the scene to begin the search.

　　According to nearby residents, Muma Ranch Road is an abandoned path that has long been rarely used. After a heavy rain, the road had been blocked by fallen trees and became impassable.

　　The police looked in the direction indicated by the residents and could faintly see a small path in the woods. But upon entering, they found no signs of pedestrian traffic. As the residents had said, the path was indeed winding, rugged, filled with gullies, and overgrown with thick bushes, making progress extremely difficult.

　　After an hour of tough trekking, the rescue team finally reached Jingguan Pavilion, halfway up Tiechuan Peak. However, after contacting Wang Shi’s relatives and friends again by phone, they learned that instead of taking the flat path from Jingguan Pavilion toward the suspension bridge, Wang and the group had gone in the opposite direction, climbing along the cliffs toward the peak. At this point, the rescue team realized that compared to the path they had just taken, scaling these sheer, pathless cliffs was the most challenging task.

　　Despite the treacherous conditions, the rescue team remained undeterred. After repeatedly confirming the exact location of Wang and the others, they fearlessly began climbing up the cliffs one by one. An hour and a half later, the team heard cries for help. Following the sound, they spotted Wang’s relatives and friends and eventually found the injured Wang Shi in a crevice under a cliff.

　　After examination by a doctor, apart from the left thigh fracture, Wang Shi had no other serious injuries. After bandaging, the next challenge for the rescue team was how to get Wang down the mountain.

　　At this point, Wang’s relatives and friends, along with employees of the reclamation farm, also arrived to assist. With no further path available, the rescue team had no choice but to carry Wang Shi on a stretcher and make their way back along the original route.

　　Steep cliffs, loose rocks, and exhaustion all posed significant challenges to the rescue operation.

　　But every member of the rescue team gritted their teeth—some pulled the stretcher from the front, others pushed from behind, and some supported it from the middle. Their bodies were almost pressed against the ground as they inched downward step by step.

　　With unwavering determination to save the injured, the rescuers worked together in shifts, carrying the stretcher through cliffs and forests for over four hours. They managed to carve out a green lifeline on the steep mountain face and successfully rescued the trapped individual.
