Located northeast of Xiaotianchi on Mount Lu in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, and in the southern suburbs of Jiujiang.

The scenic area features a valley stretching over 2,000 meters, with more than 30 natural attractions. The landscape is unique, pristine, and serene, with towering peaks, steep cliffs, misty clouds, sweet and refreshing water, lush green mountains, uniquely shaped rocks, and twin waterfalls that seem like dragons emerging from the mountains, with two dragons playing with a pearl in the pool.

Before the 1930s, Green Dragon Pool was little known. In 1930, the renowned modern poet Chen Sanli, after being dismissed from his post by the late Qing government, traveled extensively across Mount Lu, using its natural landscapes to escape worldly troubles. In his twilight years, he discovered this undeveloped gem. After visiting many of Mount Lu’s scenic spots, Chen erected a stele here and inscribed "Record of the Waterfall Pavilion," praising it: “I doubt any other site in the southern part of the mountain—such as the Three-Step Waterfall or the Azure Jade Gorge—can rival it.”

Ice Valley: In 1935, the famous Chinese geologist Li Siguang personally visited this site for research and identified the Ice Valley as the most representative "U"-shaped valley of Mount Lu’s Quaternary glacial period, featuring typical glacial landforms with milky-white glacial rocks in various shapes. Many scenes in the movie *Li Siguang* were filmed in the Ice Valley. Sitting at the valley entrance and gazing at the distant lakes and mountains inspires boundless reverie and pure joy.

The scenic area boasts rich cultural landscapes, including stone inscriptions of Chen Sanli’s "Record of the Waterfall Pavilion" and "Viewing the Waterfall at Wangjiapo," among others. Many notable scholars and celebrities have also visited to admire the scenery and express their sentiments.

The uniquely beautiful and serene Green Dragon Pool (Wangjiapo Twin Waterfalls) Scenic Area is located northeast of Xiaotianchi on Mount Lu in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. The area integrates 2.5-million-year-old Quaternary glacial relics with abundant historical and cultural landscapes and natural scenery, representing the essence of Mount Lu’s natural beauty. Known as the “First Pool of Mount Lu,” it is often said, “Once you visit Green Dragon Pool, you won’t want to return home.”

A spring gushes from a crevice in the cliff, cascading down like a fairy’s sash, while hidden waterfalls flow like silky white ribbons down the mountainside. Under the midday sun, rainbows shimmer on the water’s surface, and the remarkably shaped Fan Peak and the steep Stone Gate Peak, along with the naturally formed Immortal Gathering Pavilion... every sight is a feast for the eyes.

The Green Dragon Pool Scenic Area is not only picturesque but also boasts uniquely perilous peaks that spark the imagination. The towering Immortal Gathering Peak pierces the clouds. Climbing to its summit to watch the sunrise over the shimmering Poyang Lake is a breathtaking sight. In foggy seasons, the valleys are shrouded in mist, resembling a colossal waterfall pouring from the heavens. In this sacred, car-free, and unpolluted environment, the mist envelops you, cleansing your body and soul, making you feel as though you’re floating weightlessly, as if ascending to immortality.

As you ascend the steps, the roar of the瀑布 grows louder, and you see a “giant dragon” charging through the valley, unstoppable in its might, its thunderous roar echoing endlessly. Its grandeur resembles a stampede of horses kicking up a misty trail before plunging into Green Dragon Pool. At the pool’s edge, you can clearly see the three large characters “Green Dragon Pool” personally inscribed by Mr. Chen. The pool’s waters rush down on both sides of a massive rock, forming the famous Twin Waterfalls of Green Dragon Pool. When the waterfall hits protruding rocks, it sprays into misty droplets that dance on the pool’s surface. A mountain breeze carries the moisture, infused with the fresh scent of wildflowers from the valley, refreshing your lungs and lifting your spirits, dissolving all worldly worries. It’s truly enchanting.

The Green Dragon Pool Scenic Area has now developed into a tourism company integrating dining, accommodation, entertainment, and sightseeing. In the 1930s and 1940s, American dignitaries traveled great distances to visit. Soong Mei-ling, the wife of Chiang Kai-shek, often accompanied Madame Marshall to swim here in the summer, which led to heightened security, keeping ordinary people away. Today, the area has changed, and the scenic spot has built a 1,000-square-meter swimming pool supplied with cool Mount Lu water for visitors to enjoy. The Green Dragon Pool Restaurant can accommodate 200 diners. The management continuously improves service standards. Though “late to the scene,” Green Dragon Pool is growing strategically and warmly welcomes domestic and international tourists with its stunning natural beauty.

The Green Dragon Pool Scenic Area not only offers naturally beautiful scenery but is also easily accessible, just 24 kilometers from Jiujiang City. City Bus No. 10 can take you to the scenic area, or you can walk over 3,000 meters northeast from Xiaotianchi on Mount Lu to reach it.
