Wenchang Temple

Located in the central area of Huashan Scenic Zone within the park, nestled in a mountain valley at an altitude of 980 meters, according to historical records, the temple was first built during the Tang Dynasty, flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and served as a Taoist site. The existing structures were reconstructed in 2004, featuring a three-bay-wide hall with a hip-and-gable double-eave roof and surrounded by corridor-style architecture. It primarily enshrines the Wenchang Emperor, who, among the deities of Taoism, is the god governing worldly success and prosperity. Flanking him are the Deaf Heaven, Mute Earth, and the Seven Star Lords. Traditional temple fairs are held on the 15th day of the second and seventh lunar months each year.
