Shuangling Taiyi Cableway on Mount Lu

The Taiyi Village to Hanpokou Cableway is 825 meters long with an elevation difference of 378 meters, taking just 7 minutes to travel between the upper and lower stations. It creates a convenient shortcut between the mountaintop area and the southern foothills of Mount Lu. Riding the cableway also offers panoramic views of the peaks to the south of the mountain and the scenery of Poyang Lake.

Taiyi Village, officially known as the Taiyi Generals’ Villa Village, was originally where 18 prominent high-ranking generals of the Kuomintang, such as Cai Tingkai, Bai Chongxi, and Chen Cheng, built 18 villas of varying sizes and styles. The area mainly consists of the ruins of these 18 villas, Jiǔqífēng Peak, Quaternary glacial relics, Guanxiting Pavilion, Xijian Pavilion, Quancao Waterfall, and the Taiyi Cableway. Through development, it has been transformed into Mount Lu’s first resort, vacation, and summer retreat destination.

The Taiyi Village Scenic Area is located at the foot of Taiyi Peak, west of Hanpokou, nestled beside the ancient mountain hiking trail on the southern side of Mount Lu. Legend has it that the ancient Taoist master Taiyi Zhenren attained immortality here. Situated at an altitude of over 800 meters, the area is surrounded by peaks, enjoys a mild climate year-round, and features bamboo forests as dense as clouds in a tranquil setting. Visitors can enjoy close-up views of the surrounding peaks and distant vistas of Poyang Lake, making it an ideal destination for summer retreats and leisure.
