Sanqing Lake is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a national water conservancy scenic area.

Sanqing Lake is located at the foot of the Sanqing Mountain, a national key scenic area, 12 kilometers from National Highway 320 and 16 kilometers from Yushan Station on the Zhejiang–Jiangxi Railway. It lies on the key route of the Sanqing Mountain tourist expressway — the Yujin Highway. The lake gets its name from the pure and clear waters that originate from Sanqing Mountain. The scenic area covers a total of 54.8 square kilometers, with the lake surface spanning 9.9 square kilometers. Sanqing Lake boasts picturesque scenery, especially known for its crystal-clear streams and lake waters, serene and beautiful landscapes, unique and steep karst cave formations, idyllic countryside villages, wild forest produce, and cultural sites where both Buddhism and Taoism are practiced. The Sanqing Lake scenic area combines mountains, water, forests, streams, caves, religious culture, and rural villages. Together with the majestic and precipitous Sanqing Mountain, it forms a breathtaking landscape painting, offering "the benevolent" joy in the "mountains" and "the wise" delight in the "waters."

The vast expanse of Sanqing Lake shimmers with misty waters, and its landscape is poetic and picturesque. With 249 million cubic meters of water, the lake creates its own unique microclimate — free from severe cold in winter and extreme heat in summer — making it an ideal destination for leisure and vacation. It is also a paradise for water sports enthusiasts who enjoy surfing and boating.

Sanqing Lake features enchanting scenery and beautiful views. The upstream waters are swift and turbulent, while the downstream is calm and clear, suitable for both leisurely boat rides and bamboo raft drifting. Lush trees line both banks, creating a delightful view; the lake’s surface is vast and mirror-like. To the northwest of the lake lies Shaohua Mountain, where ancient structures such as the Song Dynasty Shaohua Zen Temple ruins and cliff inscriptions can be found. To the southwest are clusters of karst caves with jagged stalactites and hidden underground streams. The area enjoys a sound ecological environment, and in winter, large numbers of mandarin ducks, wild geese, cranes, and other migratory birds can be seen flying above the lake, forming a stunning spectacle. Together with the majestic and precipitous Sanqing Mountain, Sanqing Lake forms a breathtaking landscape painting.
