The Sunshine Coast Scenic Area is located on the eastern side of Mount Sanqing, hence also known as the Eastern Coast. It is a newly developed high-altitude plank walkway area on Mount Sanqing. Stretching 3,600 meters in length with an average elevation of 1,600 meters, it offers the best views of the magnificent landscapes on the eastern part of the mountain. Strolling along the Sunshine Coast, you feel as if you are walking on clouds and wrapped in a misty veil, as though wandering through a fairyland. From here, you can take in sweeping views of the grand sea of clouds and the spectacular distant stone forests on the high mountains.

The 3,600-meter-long Sunshine Coast plank walkway is built atop cliffs at an average altitude of over 1,600 meters. It starts from Yuhuangding in the Nanshengyuan area in the south of Mount Sanqing and extends north to Jiutian Yingyuan Fu in the Sanqing Palace area, connecting to the West Coast Scenic Area to form a circular tourist route. In terms of engineering design and construction, the Sunshine Coast project not only adopts advanced concepts such as environmental harmony emphasized in the West Coast, but also places greater emphasis on human-centered design, with more measures for environmental protection and safety.

Once completed, the Sunshine Coast allows visitors to enjoy the majestic sunrise, sea of clouds, alpine stone forests, and waterfalls on the eastern side of Mount Sanqing, while also experiencing the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. Walking along the coast, you feel as if you are strolling on clouds and wrapped in mist, as though in a fairyland. In the distance, the spectacular alpine stone forests and other grand sights stretch out before your eyes.

The Sunshine Coast is the best place to view the stunning scenery on the eastern side of Mount Sanqing. Among its highlights are several breathtaking wonders: sunrise, vast sea of clouds, a forest of pine trees stretching for miles, thrilling suspension bridges, transparent glass viewing platforms, deep valleys, and the Eastern Goddess and Giant Python Emerging from the Mountain seen from different angles.

Located on the eastern side of Mount Sanqing, the Sunshine Coast forms a high-altitude circular tourist route at 1,600 meters above sea level together with the West Coast and Sanqing Palace areas, making it the best spot to admire the eastern splendors of the mountain. Highlights include the sunrise, vast sea of clouds, mile-long pine forests, thrilling suspension bridges, transparent glass viewing platforms, deep valleys, and the Eastern Goddess and Giant Python Emerging from the Mountain seen from various perspectives.

Although the walking route of the Sunshine Coast Scenic Area is relatively long, the steps are well-distributed and the path generally follows a gentle curve. Visitors can walk along the plank walkway with ease, and the entire tour takes about one and a half hours. There are numerous rest areas along the route, and some excellent viewing platforms offer opportunities to both enjoy the scenery and take a break. Given the characteristics of the area, it is recommended to visit the Sunshine Coast in the morning and combine it with visits to Sanqing Palace and the West Coast to form a complete touring route, allowing you to experience the breathtaking natural wonders and timeless cultural heritage of Mount Sanqing, and feel the harmony between nature and culture.

The Sunshine Coast features a rich variety of scenic spots, so you have flexibility in choosing when to visit. A common choice is to go in the afternoon, after lunch and a short rest, ascending the mountain and completing the tour of Nanshengyuan before dinner.

The Sunshine Coast Scenic Area stretches from Yuhuangding in the Nanshengyuan area in the south to Jiutian Yingyuan Fu in the Sanqing Palace area in the north. When visiting, it is common to combine the West Coast and Sanqing Palace into a circular tourist route. While passing through the West Coast, you can also access the Yujingfeng Scenic Area.
