In 2002, adhering to the construction philosophy of putting people first, ensuring comfortable sightseeing, and meticulously preserving the natural ecology, the Mount Sanqing Management Committee invested over 20 million yuan. Workers, harnessed with long ropes, dangled from the cliffs to drive piles, erect scaffolding, and lay paths. After five months of work, they constructed a high-altitude plank walkway stretching over 4,000 meters along cliffs with an average elevation of 1,600 meters. Of these, 3,000 meters feature no steps at all. The maximum vertical drop between the walkway and the valley below exceeds 200 meters. Leaning on the railings high above the ground is thrilling and exhilarating; walking along it feels like walking on clouds or strolling leisurely in a courtyard. It eliminates the exhaustion of “sweating going up and trembling legs coming down,” making it possible even for elderly visitors with limited mobility to travel here with ease and joy.
