Shangrao Sanqingshan Yuhuangding (Jade Emperor Summit) & Yu Huangding (Yu Emperor Summit)

Yuhuangding is located within the Nanshuiyuan area of Sanqingshan. It features a spacious platform that allows visitors to enjoy the surrounding mountain ranges and sea views. From here, the Xiufeng Scenic Area is better viewed, and due to its moderate elevation, the sea of clouds and the iconic "Giant Python Emerging from the Mountain" are particularly vivid. At an altitude of 1,580 meters, Yuhuangding is one of the best viewpoints on Sanqingshan.

Yuhuangding is not a standalone peak but rather a small elevated terrace surrounded by taller mountains.

Yuhuangding is actually considered part of the Nanshuiyuan Scenic Area. Nearby, it serves as the starting point for the trail leading to the Sunshine Coast Scenic Area (East Sea), and there’s also a path that leads directly downhill back to Rishang Mountain Villa.

Whether you’re coming from Rishang Mountain Villa or approaching Yuhuangding via the Giant Python Emerging from the Mountain in the Nanshuiyuan area, you’ll first need to hike up a long stretch of uphill path. However, the platform at Yuhuangding offers rewarding views that make the climb worthwhile. Even if you approach from the East Sea plank walk, although it's technically downhill, you're essentially shifting the uphill hike from reaching Yuhuangding to ascending via the West Sea plank walk to the East Sea plank walk — so the effort is still inevitable.
