Huaiyu Township is situated in the northwest of Yushan County, Jiangxi Province. It borders the Sanqingshan National 4A-level Scenic Area to the east and connects with the Wufengdong Scenic Area of Dexing City to the north. It is 50 kilometers from the county seat (the Huaiyu Mountain scenic area is 65 kilometers from the county seat). The township covers an area of 134 square kilometers. The Zhejiang–Jiangxi Railway, National Highway 320, and the Shanghai–Ruili (Liwu) Expressway run through the area. It is 404 kilometers from Hangzhou, 605 kilometers from Shanghai, and 340 kilometers from Nanchang.
