The Former Site of the Founding of the Red Tenth Army is located in Jieshi Village, Zhongbu Town, Leping City, Jiangxi Province, with a construction area of nearly 300 square meters in the architectural style of the Qing Dynasty. The site displays precious historical materials such as photos and charts related to the founding of the Red Tenth Army, reflecting its glorious history of establishing, consolidating, and developing revolutionary bases, safeguarding the Central Soviet Area, covering the strategic relocation of the main forces of the Central Red Army, and promoting the nationwide resistance against Japan and the liberation of the Chinese nation through outstanding contributions. Jieshi Village in Zhongbu Town is the largest Ma-family village in Leping, with nearly 500 households and a population of around 2,000. It got its name because it is located at the border between Leping and Yiyang counties, and it served as the birthplace of the 10th Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army.

The 10th Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army (abbreviated as the Red Tenth Army) was the main force of the revolutionary base in Fujian-Zhejiang-Jiangxi, founded by Fang Zhimin, Shao Shiping, Zhou Jianping, and others. It was established on July 22, 1930, in Jieshi Village with a founding ceremony. The army headquarters was set up in the ancestral hall of Jieshi, and the podium was placed on the ancient stage outside the right side of the hall. Comrade Fang Zhimin presided over the ceremony and delivered a speech, while all the soldiers attended the solemn event in the square below. The army had over 1,700 officers and soldiers and more than 1,000 guns. The army commander was Zhou Jianping, and the political commissars included Wu Xianmin, Hu Tingquan, and Shao Shiping successively. Members of the Party Committee Standing Committee included Fang Zhimin, Shao Shiping, Hu Tingquan, Zhou Jianping, Xuan Datong, Li Wentao, Li Jisan, and Li Shangda. Before the founding of the Red Tenth Army, it originated from the uprising led by Fang Zhimin in Qigong Town, Yiyang, in 1926 (the 15th year of the Republic of China), which was later known as the “revolution with two and a half guns,” and gradually developed into an armed force. After its founding, the Red Tenth Army fought valiantly in the southeast, achieving remarkable feats and gaining widespread fame. Later, under the leadership of Fang Zhimin, it raised the banner of marching north to resist Japan, advanced into southern Anhui, overcame numerous hardships, and fought bravely. It made immortal contributions and outstanding achievements in consolidating and developing the Fujian-Zhejiang-Anhui-Jiangxi revolutionary base, supporting the five anti-encirclement campaigns of the Central Soviet Area, and the liberation of the entire nation.

Zhongbu Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Leping City. Established as Zhongbu Township in 1950, upgraded to Zhongbu Commune in 1958, reinstated as Zhongbu Township in 1984, and became a town in 1989. Located at the southeastern edge of the city, the town government is seated in Zhongbu Street, 21.3 kilometers from the municipal government. It covers an area of 199 square kilometers with a population of 59,000. The Leye Highway passes through the area.
