World drum troupes unite at Malaysia’s Perak State Drum Festival for a breathtaking opening

The domestically produced film "Dynasty Warriors," which achieved box office success of over 100 million yuan, moved audiences with its drum performance. To experience diverse and distinctive drum performances from around the world, now is the time to visit Malaysia. The "2012 Royal Belum World Drums Festival" (2012 Royal Belum World Drums Festival) will take place from tomorrow (the 21st) through the 26th in Perak State, Malaysia. Drum troupes from 11 countries including Malaysia, Japan, Brazil, and Indonesia will combine their unique cultural backgrounds, blending tradition with modernity to deliver fresh and awe-inspiring performances.

This year’s "Royal Belum World Drums Festival" is themed "The Intersection of Tradition and Modernity," featuring 13 performing groups from around the world. Among them, Indonesia’s Saratus % ensemble will blend instruments from various countries to present a stunning intersection of tradition and modernity; Azerbaijani drummers will captivate audiences with vivid and powerful rhythms; and Ghana’s Atenteben drum troupe will showcase the most traditional African drumming, music, and dance performances.
The six-day event will feature performances in various locations across Perak State, including Taiping City, Lumut City, and Ipoh City, attracting visitors from all over to this annual drumming extravaganza. Perak State is located in northwestern Malaysia, with Ipoh as its capital. It is not far from Kuala Lumpur, so visitors can take a northbound train from Kuala Lumpur Railway Station and then transfer to another train or bus to reach the various towns from Ipoh.
