Honggong Ancestral Hall is located on Paotai Mountain in Hongyuan Village, Maoshan, the site of Hongyuan Wonderland. It is the hometown of Hong Hao, a renowned loyal statesman of China’s Southern Song Dynasty, historically known as the “Second Su Wu.” Hong Hao and his three sons—Hong Zun, Hong Shi, and Hong Mai—achieved remarkable feats. The writings of Hong Hao, such as Pojin Collection and Records of Songmo, along with Hong Mai’s Rongzhai Suibi, have had a profound impact and were highly valued and cherished by the great leader Mao Zedong throughout his life. Riding on the momentum of the Hong Hao & Ma Duanlin International Academic Symposium and the 17th Annual Conference of the China Historical Literature Research Association, held with great success in the city, the ancestral hall has been renovated and opened to the public.
