Leping Revolutionary Martyrs' Memorial Tower

The Leping Revolutionary Martyrs' Memorial Tower is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism site.

The Revolutionary Martyrs' Memorial Tower stands atop Denggao Mountain in the eastern part of Leping city. It was completed in September 1959. Facing west, the tower is 15 meters high with a square base measuring 15 meters on each side. The front of the tower bears eight golden characters reading "Eternal Glory to the Revolutionary Martyrs." The memorial is surrounded by reinforced concrete railings. It is majestic and solemn.

Denggao Mountain is covered with pine and cypress trees, and at its western foot stands an archway inscribed with the words "Heroic Spirit Lives Forever." Passing through the archway, visitors climb 190 cement steps to reach the tower base. On Tomb-Sweeping Day each year, officials, workers, teachers and students, as well as People's Liberation Army soldiers, visit with reverence to honor the martyrs and lay wreaths.

At the foot of the Martyrs' Memorial Tower, a Martyrs' Memorial Hall was built in 1976 and officially opened on August 1 of the following year. The hall preserves well-maintained revolutionary relics from the Agrarian Revolutionary period, including proclamations, seals, currency, weapons from the Soviet government, as well as martyr rosters, photographs, and personal effects.
