Fengyuan Yuan Dynasty Porcelain Kiln Site
The ancient porcelain kiln site of Fengyuan is located on Dengzhan Mountain in Fengyuan Village, Shiligang Township, about 45 kilometers southeast of Leping City. It was discovered in 1987 during a survey for porcelain clay mines. The kiln site operated over a long period, from the Song to the Ming dynasties, flourishing most during the Yuan Dynasty. It was a celadon kiln with an area of 50,000 square meters and a deposit layer 2–3 meters thick. The site mainly produced green and brown-glazed ceramics, along with a small number of black-glazed pieces. Artifacts include bowls, plates, tall-footed cups, cups, saucers, and jars. Decoration techniques included stamp printing with motifs such as chrysanthemums, lotus petals, intertwined leaf patterns, and coin flowers. The ceramics feature thick glaze and body, with fine and pure porcelain quality. Kiln boxes were mostly cylindrical in shape.
Designated as a cultural heritage site protected by Leping County in October 1983.
