Leping Nanhe Park

Nanhe Park, located at the junction of Jiyang Road and Yingbin Road in the southern part of the city, was first built in 2001. It spans both the northern and southern banks of the Inner River. In September 2007, the municipal Party committee and government decided to renovate Nanhe Park. The damaged scenic spots, outdated service facilities, and lagging overall landscape within the original park were completely overhauled. It has now become a new highlight in the old urban area, not only enhancing the city’s character but also improving the quality of life for residents.

A total investment of 15 million yuan was made in the renovation of Nanhe Park, covering an area of approximately 30,000 square meters. A number of new attractions were built, including a music and cultural square, a civic activity square, a children’s activity square, a waterside platform, a sculpture area, and totem poles. The “silicified wood” scenic spot was refurbished and decorated. A variety of uniquely designed garden lights and a musical sound system were added. Approximately 380 meters of the park’s perimeter fence were updated. Additional public facilities such as parking lots, eco-friendly benches, trash bins, and public toilets were installed. Over a thousand trees of various species were planted, and about 15,000 square meters of lawn were laid. Notably, the newly built civic activity square covers nearly 2,600 square meters and can accommodate more than 1,000 citizens for fitness, leisure, and entertainment.

In the early morning and evening, large numbers of citizens come here to take walks, dance, or relax, with beautiful music blending seamlessly into the elegant surroundings.
