Jiangxi Strange Stone Forest is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Jiangxi Strange Stone Forest Scenic Area is a national 4A-level and rural tourism 4A-level scenic spot, located in Zhongbu Town, Leping City, Jiangxi Province. It is an ocean of peculiar rocks, with the total area of the stone forest exceeding twenty square kilometers. The beauty of its landscapes and the vastness of its scale are rare in China. The entire scenic area is covered with strange and uniquely shaped rocks, displaying a myriad of forms and expressions—some majestic and imposing, some delicate and adorable, some resembling humans or deities, some like birds or beasts, and others like tools or objects. Each formation is strikingly lifelike, as if crafted by supernatural forces, leaving all visitors in awe.

The Jiangxi Strange Stone Forest scenery consists of four scenic areas (spots): the Strange Stone Forest, Water Curtain Cave, Scenic Ping Stone Sea, and Tongtian Peak, offering over two days' worth of sightseeing.

Jiangxi Strange Stone Forest is situated in the Wenshan area at the junction of Leping, Yiyang, and Wannian counties (cities), lying on the same premium tourism route as famous attractions such as Sanqing Mountain, the porcelain capital of Jingdezhen, Guifeng, and Longhu Mountain. It boasts a highly advantageous geographical location. Covering an area of dozens of square kilometers, its vast expanse and stunning landscapes are extremely rare among China’s stone forest formations. It is currently the largest, most concentrated, and most beautifully scenic stone forest discovered in China to date. Stepping into the Strange Stone Forest, you’ll find vividly shaped rock formations set against enchanting underground rivers, diverse caves, mysterious sinkholes, and extraordinarily carved stone gorges—all karst landforms that blend harmoniously. Coupled with lush trees and entwined vines, they form a series of captivating ecological landscapes—some delicate and graceful, some wild and unrestrained, and others exquisitely crafted like sculptures. The Strange Stone Forest is world-renowned for its “Five Oddities”: odd trees, odd rocks, odd water, odd pits, and odd climate. The scenic area is divided into four zones: Scenic Ping Zone, Wind-Moved Rock Zone, Garden Origins, and Wind-Moved Entrance Zone.

Transportation Guide:

Highway: Take the Dechang Expressway and exit at Leping or Wannian, then head toward the scenic area.

National Road: Take National Highway 206 to Leping or Wannian, or National Highway 301 to Yiyang, then transfer to the Leyi Highway via Caodi to reach the scenic area.

Railway: Get off at Leping Station or Wannian Station on the Anhui–Jiangxi Railway, then proceed to the scenic area.

Flight: Fly into Nanchang or Jingdezhen Airport, then travel to the scenic area.
