The Joint Tomb of Song Dynasty Couple Li Xunwu

The Joint Tomb in Jinshan Village, Zhenqiao Town, located in Jinshan Village, Zhenqiao Town, is 18 kilometers from the city center. This tomb was discovered by local farmers clearing land in Shangnao Village. In November 1975, an archaeological team from the provincial museum, together with researchers from the Leping County Cultural Center, conducted an on-site investigation of the ancient tomb. This is a horizontal-top stone tablet tomb, rectangular in shape, but due to… the tomb having been completely destroyed, measurements could not be taken. Only three intact bronze mirrors with Buddha images and one celadon cosmetic box were unearthed. Among them, the celadon cosmetic box features a shiny glaze and exquisite craftsmanship, with an underglaze carved design on the lid, making it a fine piece. Additionally, more than ten broken gilded hairpins and one square epitaph stone were found.

According to the epitaph, the tomb owner was surnamed Li and named Xunwu, who served as the Prefect of Raozhou during his lifetime. This tomb is the joint burial site of Li, his wife Lady Cheng, and Lady Wan. The burial year was the third year of the Duanping era of the Southern Song Dynasty (1236 AD). The excavation details of this tomb have been published in the article “The Excavation of the Li Xunwu Tomb” in the first issue of Jiangxi Cultural Relics Work Materials in 1975.
