The Former Residence of Zou Taofen is a cultural tourism attraction.

Our county is the hometown of Zou Taofen, a renowned cultural figure and successor to Lu Xun. Zou Taofen, originally named Zou Enrun, was born in Yong'an, Fujian. In November 1908, at the age of 13, Taofen returned to his ancestral home in Yujiang with his father for the first time. During the four months he spent in his hometown, he lived in the family’s ancestral house on Fuqing Lane, Jinjiang (now Dongfeng Street), Yujiang County, and received his early education at a local private school. The former residence has been inhabited by descendants of the Zou family and remains well preserved to this day.

Zou Taofen (November 5, 1895 – July 24, 1944), originally named Enrun, with the childhood name Yingshu and also known as Li Jinqing, was from Shatang Village, Dunkou Village Committee, Huangxi Township, Huangjiang County, Yujiang. In 1922, he began working in education and social initiatives as head of a department at the China Vocational Education Association, which was founded by Huang Yanpei and others. In 1926, he took over as editor-in-chief of the magazine Life Weekly, where he used his incisive writing to champion justice and criticize dark forces.
