The former site of the Red Army recruitment office in Linjiawu is a cultural heritage protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

The former site of the Red Army recruitment office in Linjiawu is located in Linjiawu Village, Huaqiao Town, Yujiang District, Yingtan City. The site is an ancestral hall of the Zhang family built in the early Republican era, which was designated as part of the sixth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units in Jiangxi Province in March 2018.

In October 1933, the Kuomintang launched an offensive against the revolutionary base in northeastern Jiangxi with a force of 200,000 troops. In response to the fifth “encirclement and suppression” campaign by the Kuomintang, the Fujian-Zhejiang-Jiangxi Provincial Committee led the military and civilians in the base area to actively prepare for defense. Fang Zhimin issued the order to “expand the Red Army, establish the Tenth Army Corps, consolidate and expand the base areas, and crush the enemy’s fifth ‘encirclement and suppression’ campaign.” The Communist Party Committee and the Soviet Government of Yujiang County promptly implemented the directives of the Provincial Committee and the Provincial Soviet Government, setting up a military enlistment registration point in the revolutionary base area at the Zhang family ancestral hall in Linjiawu. Local youths enthusiastically signed up to join the Red Army, making Linjiawu a model village for Red Army recruitment in the northeastern Jiangxi base area. The site has since become a historical witness to the expansion of the Red Army in the region.
