Heading west along Shengli Road, a series of ancient alleyways and cultural sites invite visitors to pause and explore. Fire Alley, Three Loyalities Shrine, Gao Family Alley, Vertical Bell Alley, Horizontal Bell Alley, Officials’ Lane, Pubei, Kuixing Alley, Historian’s Alley, Xiao Family Alley all the way to Xiguan — such a concentrated display of Ming and Qing historical charm spans past and present, quietly flowing through time. The Zhang family residence located in Officials’ Lane is a typical example of Qing Dynasty architecture, built as a luxurious home by the owner Zhang Xijing during his official career in the Qing era. The buildings are named “Da Fu Di,” “Tai Shou Di,” and “Fen Zhuan Di.”

The main structure of Da Fu Di faces south, featuring a three-courtyard brick-and-wood construction. Its compact layout, rational design, and elegant simplicity reflect a rich cultural heritage and refined architectural style.

Age-old residences line the old streets here, exuding historical charm and offering visitors a deeply nostalgic experience.
