The ancient Shouchang Temple has gone through numerous cycles of prosperity and decline, and today the temple complex is vast in size with thriving incense worship. Among its most distinctive features are the relic pagoda, the standing Buddha, and the reclining Buddha. This place of long-standing history has nurtured many eminent monks and notable figures, including two recorded in historical texts: the Song Dynasty Chan masters Yuanjue and Zhenru.
