Located in Dengxianqiao Village, Gugang Township. Dengxian Bridge was originally built during the Tianbao era of the Northern Song Dynasty. It is 6 meters wide, 19 meters long, 6 meters high, with an arch span of 17 meters, and is entirely constructed of granite. From February 27 to March 1, 1933, Zhou Enlai and Zhu De commanded the main forces of the Central Red Army in the areas of Huangpi, Jiaohu, and Dengxian Bridge, employing strategies such as feint attacks and large-scale ambushes to annihilate two enemy divisions—the 52nd and 59th—achieving a major victory in the Fourth Counter-Encirclement Campaign, famously known as the “Huangpi-Dengxian Bridge Victory.” In 1985, the Le’an County government erected a small memorial monument on the eastern bank of the bridge. Dengxian Bridge has since become a key tourist attraction and a site for patriotic education, receiving numerous visitors each year. In May 2006, it was officially designated as a Patriotic Education Base by the Fuzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.

On October 27, 2003, while renovating the county-level revolutionary cultural relic site “Dide Hall” in Dengxianqiao Village, the cultural relics management department of Le’an County unexpectedly discovered a well-preserved military “inscription” left by the Red Army. The full text of the inscription reads: “On February 27, 1933, our army engaged in several hours of fierce battle with the enemy, capturing one enemy division commander, one staff officer, and one brigade commander alive, seizing one wireless radio set, thousands of machine guns and rifles, over one million silver dollars, and countless other military supplies. This is the record.” The signature reads: “Political Department of the 21st Army of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army,” “February 28, 1933.”
