The Former Site of the First Front Army’s Dahuping Reorganization (Guobao Ancestral Hall) is a classic red tourism attraction.

Located at “Guobao Ancestral Hall” in Huping Village, Huping Township. This ancestral hall features a five-courtyard layout, measuring 23 meters in width and over 90 meters in length, with a total area of 2,097.6 square meters. It stands adjacent to the General Filial Piety Ancestral Hall and the Zixiang Ancestral Hall. Originally built in the Xinyou year of the Qianlong reign (1741), it has undergone renovations. In front of the hall stand a stone memorial archway and enclosing stone slabs, creating a very imposing sight (the archway was later destroyed during the Cultural Revolution, leaving only its four Sumeru pedestals). This site also served as the training ground for political education and military drills of the Red Army Training Corps, and today it is part of Huping Primary School. A century-old osmanthus tree still thrives in the courtyard of this ancient ancestral hall, just as lush as it was back then. The historic site is well preserved.

From May to early July 1933, the First Front Army carried out a significant military reorganization in villages such as Dahuping and Shanhe, known as the “Dahuping Reorganization.” The Guobao Ancestral Hall and the adjacent drill ground served as the quarters and training field for the main forces of the Third Red Army Corps. Veteran proletarian revolutionaries such as Peng Dehuai, Xiao Ke, and Zhang Zhen all stayed in this ancestral hall. It was here that the First Front Army established the “Eastern Army” and held an oath-taking ceremony for the Eastern Expedition. Zhou Enlai, the Political Commissar of the First Front Army, delivered a mobilization speech at the event. Although the Dahuping Reorganization was influenced by the “Left” deviationist line, it remains a major historical event in the history of both the Party and the Army. As such, this ancestral hall serves as a valuable living textbook of great historical significance.
