The Kejia Congfang Memorial Archway

The Kejia Congfang Memorial Archway is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiangxi Province.

The "Kejia Congfang" Memorial Archway in Tongfu Village, Gongfang Town, Le'an County. The archway is of a three-bay, six-pillar, five-story style and is relatively well-preserved. It was built by the descendants of the Huang family in Tongfu Village to commemorate Huang Zhao, a figure of enduring pride for the clan. Huang Zhao, also known as Guanlan, was a successful candidate in the imperial examinations during the Yuanshun era of the Yuan Dynasty. He rose to the position of Minister of War after offering strategic advice that contributed to Zhu Yuanzhang’s victory over Chen Youliang. Another account suggests that the villagers built it to honor their founding ancestor, Huang Zhongmei.

The archway bears a clear inscription with the precise date: "Reconstructed by descendant offspring in the auspicious autumn of the Ji Si year of the Longqing era of the Great Ming." The Ji Si year of Longqing corresponds to 1569 AD.
