Nancheng Hongmen Lake National Wetland Park is located within Nancheng County, Jiangxi Province, with a planned area of 4,313.34 hectares. It mainly includes Hongmen Reservoir, Litang River, and surrounding areas within Nancheng County. This wetland park features a composite natural and artificial wetland ecosystem composed of Hongmen Lake reservoir wetlands, Litang River permanent river wetlands, and floodplain wetlands. It is of certain typicality and representativeness in the low mountain and hilly regions of central subtropical eastern China. The wetland forms under the Danxia landform are natural, with beautiful shorelines and unique wetland landscapes that are highly scenic.

Hongmen Lake (Hongmen Reservoir) is a large reservoir in Jiangxi Province, located 16 kilometers east of Nancheng County. It covers a water area of over 70 square kilometers, with a total storage capacity of 1.216 billion cubic meters and more than a thousand islands, earning it the nickname "Thousand-Islet Lake" of eastern Jiangxi.

Hongmen Lake – Mysterious Hongmen Island

The reservoir was once the site of the ancient county seat of Nancheng during the Western Han Dynasty, boasting profound cultural heritage. It features tens of thousands of acres of distinctive Danxia landforms. Nearby, there are both the battlefield ruins of the Red Army from 1933 and the Ming Dynasty tomb area of the Yi Prince’s fiefdom, as well as the mysterious sacred site of Hongmen. It is a comprehensive tourist destination offering vacationing, leisure, sightseeing, and entertainment.
